Adult ADHD Evaluations

Adults

A clear answer after years of wondering

Many adults who come to us have been wondering about ADHD for years. Some recognized themselves in a video online. Others sat in on their child’s evaluation and realized they could answer every question about themselves too.

Our practice works with adults who want a clear, thorough answer instead of a ten-minute screening. Some places give every single client an ADHD diagnosis—we feel that it is most important to get accurate information about yourself, so you can take your results seriously.

Hidden in plain sight

Why ADHD gets missed in adults

Many of adults spent decades compensating. They got good grades by pulling all-nighters, built elaborate systems of alarms and sticky notes, or worked twice as hard as everyone around them without knowing why. Women and high achievers get missed constantly, because the struggle happened on the inside where no one could see it.

  • Good grades but constant struggle

  • Relying on systems and reminders

  • More common in women and high achievers

  • Hard to see from the outside

The process

What the evaluation looks like

We talk through your history in detail, including childhood, school, work, and relationships. You’ll complete standardized testing and rating scales, and with your permission, we may ask someone who knew you as a child or knows you well now to fill out a questionnaire.

Overlapping presentations

ADHD and autism together

ADHD and autism co-occur more often than most people realize. If you’ve ever felt that ADHD explains some of your experience but not all of it, we can look at both in the same evaluation.

After testing

What you walk away with

You’ll get a clear answer and a written report, plus a feedback session to go over what it means for your life. The report can be shared with a prescriber if you want to explore medication, and it can support requests for workplace or academic accommodations.

Evaluation rates

For most clients, the rate for an ADHD evaluation is $2,250. The total cost includes all sessions, a report of results and recommendations, and a feedback session to explain results and answer any questions that you may have. For additional concerns or needs, we can address these needs for an additional cost at our hourly rate. To add additional testing to assess for autism, the evaluation cost is $2,575. Older teens may need to include more extensive information from parents and other contacts (teachers, therapists, more extensive record review), especially if reporting is needed for school or standardized testing accommodations, and additional charges apply.
