Psychological Evaluations for Adults

OTHER SERVICES

Student Support

College students with learning disabilities or other mental health conditions which negatively impact their performance in the classroom, such as ADHD or mood disorders, may require documentation of these disabilities to receive accommodations, student support services for individuals with disabilities at their university, or testing accommodations.  If you are an undergraduate or graduate student who needs documentation for academic support services, learn what your university or testing organization requires. Many universities may name specific tests they prefer, and while some accept virtual testing, others do not. We are able to accommodate what many universities require for these types of evaluation, but if you email us the specific requirements, we can take a look and let you know before we schedule an appointment. (This will also help us provide an estimate of the total cost for the evaluation.)  There is not a set fee for these types of evaluations, since it depends on the assessments conducted and the time needed for the test administration and writeup.

Pre-adoption, egg donor, and fertility evaluations

If you are planning to grow your family or help someone else grow theirs, some companies and organizations require psychological evaluations prior to adoption, surrogacy, egg donation, or other choices.  Dr. Myszak has specialized training in perinatal psychology, and I enjoy talking with parents who are choosing this path. International adoption or other organizations often have specific requirements for an evaluation, and we are typically able to accommodate whatever they are asking for as a part of the evaluation process. These types of evaluations typically involve a clinical interview which includes information about how you came to this decision and your expectations of the process, along with psychological testing to rule out any serious concerns. If you email us the specific requirements, we can take a look and provide an estimate of the total cost for the evaluation. There is not a set fee for these types of evaluations, since it depends on the assessments conducted and the time needed for the test administration and writeup.

ADHD evaluations

If you were treated for ADHD during childhood and need an updated diagnosis, or if you always suspected ADHD and want to find out if your concerns are valid, an Express ADHD Evaluation might be right for you. These types of evaluations are limited in scope and meant to either confirm or not confirm ADHD. This information may be required by a physician or psychiatrist who requires psychological testing prior to prescribing medication for this condition.

Veteran’s Evaluations

Dr. Myszak also conducts Veteran’s Compensation and Pension (C&P) Evaluations for several contracting companies that work with the VA. She is listed as a provider for these companies, and they contact her directly to schedule these evaluations. If you are a Veteran with an upcoming appointment, you should contact those companies directly with any questions or concerns. These evaluations typically last 45-60 minutes and involve a clinical interview that covers the Veteran’s background and history along with their current mental health symptoms. We are also available to complete Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) for Veterans that we have not previously evaluated. IME reports are typically requested by lawyers or advocacy organizations when there is an appeal for benefits. They provide an additional, unbiased report of information which can be helpful for claimants to ensure that their symptoms and level of impairment are being documented in their medical record and reviewed by decision makers
