Our Psychometrist

FASTER SCHEDULING, SAME HIGH-QUALITY CARE

Meet Our New Psychometrist

To help us serve families sooner, we are excited to introduce Mattie, our psychometrist who specializes in administering child testing under Dr. Myszak’s direct supervision. This team-based model shortens wait times and allows us to focus on clinical formulation, interpretation, diagnosis, and individualized recommendations—so you get more insight, sooner.

ABOUT PSYCHOMETRIST

What’s a Psychometrist

A psychometrist is a highly trained professional who administers and scores standardized assessments (e.g., cognitive, academic, attention/executive functioning, language, memory, social-communication, sensory profiles). They create a calm, predictable testing experience so children can do their best.

  • Your child’s plan, diagnosis, and report are still completed by the licensed psychologist.
  • All test selection, interpretation, clinical decision-making, and recommendations remain the psychologist’s responsibility.

Why This Helps Families

  1. Shorter wait times: Adding a skilled tester expands our daily capacity without rushing your child.

  2. Child-centered pacing: A dedicated examiner can flex breaks, movement, and sensory supports while keeping standardized procedures intact.

  3. Family-friendly scheduling options: Where previously students needed to take time off of school for testing sessions, Mattie offers a variety of testing times, including after school and weekend availability.

  4. Consistency & accuracy: With Mattie focusing fully on administration/scoring; our psychologists focus fully on clinical synthesis, which improves clarity and quality.

  5. More of what matters: By working with Mattie, Dr. Myszak and Dr. Long spend more time analyzing results, conferring with you, and writing a clear, practical report.

Mattie Kujawski is currently a graduate student at DePaul University. She is in the last year of obtaining a Master of Science degree in Research Psychology. She obtained her BA degree in Anthropology & Global Studies from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Throughout her career, she has worked behind the scenes in research, and she has also worked directly with individuals in both one-on-one, group, educational, and recreational settings. She has a passion for psychology and is excited to be a part of the Help and Healing Center assisting Dr. Jessica Myszak with psychological testing that can inform and empower people on their journey to understand their unique psychology. Frequently Asked Questions

How do we ensure that testing with our psychometrist is a good experience for families?

Mattie has been trained by Dr. Myszak to work well with a variety of learners on all of the measures used in our practice. Dr. Myszak selects the testing batteries, reviews all testing protocols, and meets with Mattie before and after testing to ensure that the client’s needs are being met. Testing materials and results are handled securely and every protocol is reviewed for accuracy. Dr. Myszak is responsible for all clinical conclusions, diagnoses, and recommendations.

Will we still meet with the psychologist?

Yes. The psychologist completes the intake, oversees testing, integrates results, provides the feedback session, and authors your report. At times, the psychologist may determine that it is important to see additional information from the family (i.e., photos or videos) or have an additional meeting with the child, but we will let you know if that is the case!

Why not have you do all the testing personally?

Delegating administration to a test administration specialist increases access and frees me to spend more time on the parts only a psychologist can do—clinical interpretation, diagnosis, and individualized planning. It also allows us to serve more clients and be able to offer lower cost evaluations to people who might otherwise not be able to

Is the quality the same?

Yes. Quality is maintained through standardized procedures, direct supervision, double-scoring checks, and my clinical oversight for interpretation and recommendations. Mattie has been personally trained by Dr. Myszak to work with a variety of learners.

My child is easily overwhelmed—can this work for us?

Absolutely. Mattie is skilled at building rapport, offering structured choices, and using low-demand, sensory-aware pacing while keeping procedures standardized.

Who writes the report and gives the diagnosis?

The psychologist completes the report. Whether you are working with Dr. Myszak or Dr. Long, the psychologist is responsible for synthesizing all data, writing the report, discussing findings, and making recommendations.

Will the school accept results if a psychometrist did the testing?

Yes. Schools look for standardized administration and a licensed psychologist’s interpretation and conclusions, which our process provides.
